Re: Rankings feature is fun
I notice an uptick in my profile views when I make updates, and I don't publish my updates to others' feeds. I probably spend 15-30 minutes a few times a week approving connections, browsing, etc.

Re: Rankings feature is fun
I'm not on LI regularly. I'll update it sometimes if I see something egregious in my profile that I need to update or fix. Other than that, I rarely do anything on it. I noticed that I was getting the same amount of attention when I was posting regularly as when I did nothing at all. So I rarely go there.

15 minutes per day to request / approve connections. Will spend longer if I find someone or something interesting

How much time per week do you put into LinkedIn? I am curious, readers. Chime in.

Re: intro
I will try these tips a try. I get recruiters viewing my profile, but I haven't gotten any response from them for my field of interest.  As you have indicate, maybe I have to tweak my profile some more.  I think the problem with Linkedin it just that it takes a long time to make constant updates and modifications.

LinkedIn is taking advantage of default settings
LinkedIn allows you to configure your "privacy" settings to prevent the disclosure of your identity when you review a profile. But it doesn't do this by default, presumably to make concern about who viewed what more valuable to the company.

intro
If you notice a profile view from someone you admire professionally, have shared interests with, or who is from a company you're interested in working for, send them a message to introduce yourself

I have not followed up with anyone that has viewed my profile. I'm going to try this. LI has already broken the ice, so why not? : )

analytics
Perhaps you're attracting recruiters from CRM software companies, but you really want to be attracting professionals from accounting software companies. This is a solid indicator that maybe it's time to reevaluate the information on your profile.

This is an excellent feature. I have gotten several emails about people looking at my profile. The analytics could help me analyze my own profile and improve it. Focus focus focus! (Now if I could just find a moment to do that....)
