I'd be thrilled to see doctors going through checklists and updating my records when they visit me in a hospital room. Because if they don't do it then, they won't remember, and anything they enter later will be pure, unadulterated BS. The reasons the hospitals are fighting this is that these doctors are amazingly lazy and sloppy. But I've seen it done right - yes, it does take a couple minutes, but the quality and timeliness of the records is greatly improved.
