The big money driver now that makes VMware not feasible is the SQL Server 2012 licensing model. This is a hard sell because youGÇÖre paying the same as physical in virtual but losing the performance, power and stability. If you go VCPU youGÇÖre paying for hyper threaded processors you get for free in the physical world. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

This is the awesome great end to VMware for SQL server, because why would I pay the same to lose performance, have flaked out reliability, and not have true HA. Ha, ha ha...right I wouldnGÇÖt :-) Boy what a selling point for VMware. Good bye VMware! Good riddance! Good job Microsoft getting rid of these jokers in the SQL 2012 world :-)
