More work? Wrong meme -- think "job security." And even if it is tough on the poor babies, I look at it this way: I have seen so many friends go broke over their health care, and so many get coverage denied under the odious "pre-existing conditions." So it'll be nice to see somebody else suffer for a change.

re: Obamacare Victory Spells More Work For Healthcare CIOs
If Google (or someone else big like IBM) were smart, it would buld out an infrastructure to assist with this and sell it as a service. They are big enough to come up with an infrastructure that each State and private/public health care provider (Drs, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, etc...) could interface with. The Veterans Administration probably does MOST of what these other entities do, so if would could get an external company like Google/IBM to buld out the standards, then all could participate. We have made Healthcare a national priority (with which I agree by the way), as a result we need to think standardization and economies of scale !

IT's Reputation: What the Data Says
InformationWeek's IT Perception Survey seeks to quantify how IT thinks it's doing versus how the business really views IT's performance in delivering services - and, more important, powering innovation. Our results suggest IT leaders should worry less about whether they're getting enough resources and more about the relationships they have with business unit peers.
