I think it would be a very eye opening experience for physicians to learn the cost of these tests. I have even started seeing projects where the EHR displays the cost so the physician knows the exactly what he or she is asking the patient to pay for. I think it would also be an enlightening experience for a patient to see a superbill with the costs associated with it before or during their visit. My guess is things would change substantially.
