re: One Way To Avoid Cloud Outages
This is an interesting approach, George, but can the onramp or the cloud management platform switch seamlessly from one data source (or cloud repository) to another?

re: One Way To Avoid Cloud Outages
Great thoughts George. Not surprisingly, we at TwinStrata are unashamedly biased toward the onramp approach. The point you make about cloud mirroring is an important one G the ability to support multiple cloud vendors from a single appliance helps to significantly address concerns about cloud provider outages. That being said, for those that are not willing to manage multiple cloud providers, the relatively simple, yet prevalent, solution of having an onsite cache as part of your onramp solution very neatly addresses access concerns as it relates your most frequently accessed data. By having multiple caches and policies, you can customize your gateway to meet your unique needs for availability and performance. @TheITPro.com G If IGm reading your question correctly, youGre asking about the ease of switching between cloud storage providers, not really about switching data sources or mirroring. I can only speak to the capabilities of TwinStrata CloudArray, but migration from one cloud provider to another is a relatively simple process, though the amount of time it takes will be restricted based on your bandwidth as you flow data back into your system from cloud provider 1 and back out to cloud provider 2. If you have a large cache on premise (as you might in a backup scenario), you would mitigate that delay. Hope that answers your question.
