Great info Charles. VMWare is a stand up company and we always knew that pricing model was a waste.

As always Charlie nails the key points. The virtualization biz continues to move up the management chain to sort of a hypervisor manager of a hypervisors model. If you aren't open, you are closed model. And while the virtualization technology has moved forward at a rapid pace, the pricing model is till catching up. The vRAM pricing (tax, according to MS) was silly and I dont think the per cpu model is the end point either.
