re: Videoconferencing: What's The Right Use?
At a company I worked for we experimented with video for weekly departmental meetings. To say that the meetings were awkward is putting it mildly.

re: Videoconferencing: What's The Right Use?
I've been on a few press calls recently that used videoconferencing and couldn't help noticing how bored / uncomfortable reporters and other participants looked when they were on camera but had nothing to say. One of the smarter analysts turned his camera on just long enough to introduce himself, then turned it right back off. When I participate via my laptop's webcam, I find it extremely difficult to maintain eye contact because if I'm looking at the other person's face, I'm looking down and away from the camera. Given a choice, I usually leave the camera turned off. I'd rather see than be seen.
