I created an account just to comment on the Austin Powers analogy. I think you might regret using that when 1999 rolls around. Seriously, not only did you reference a movie that has been culturally irrelevant for 10+ years, but you thought it was such a solid comparison that you devoted two paragraphs to it. I'm not a troll, I'm just trying to help. Not everyone is cut out for comedy.

I would have loved to attend this conference, it sounds like I would have enjoyed it throughly. I always get inspired when I hear about a person who has developed and changed the technological world as we know it, it also make me smile when they are young. These four are a plethora on IT information and filled with trials and errors of what works, and worked for them. They are correct that if what you envision is to not impact the world then you never will!
