re: How To Build A High-Performance IT Team
One area where pipelining is a near-requirement is cloud computing, particularly relating to those intangible IT-business skills. This type of position may be the hardest for IT to fill, as it is so unlike the typical IT jobs. The only way to often find what you need is to always be looking. --Paul Calento http://bit.ly/paul_calento

I couldnGÇÖt agree with the author more in regards to pipelinning interns and recent graduates. These are individuals that are familiar with the systems and the way the company operates and hopeful they have done an outstanding job, good enough for an offer. It just makes sense to hire someone that already has knowledge of the way you run business and is trained how you trained them to hire them on after their internship. People with no experience are the best because you can train them the way that you wish!

IT's Reputation: What the Data Says
InformationWeek's IT Perception Survey seeks to quantify how IT thinks it's doing versus how the business really views IT's performance in delivering services - and, more important, powering innovation. Our results suggest IT leaders should worry less about whether they're getting enough resources and more about the relationships they have with business unit peers.
