As social media matures, we're starting to see more ways that the data generated by social conversations matters. Do we follow what our people are talk about as much as what they're saying? The topics of social conversations can tell us a great deal about our organization. I saw a National Geographic story this month that touches on this very topic.

A look at global technology acquisitions for the last few quarters shows the growing understanding of the importance of analytics. Companies that can effectively harness and make sense of the growing and increasingly diverse mass of data generated by social media platforms, video, etc. will be set up for success.

Thanks for including us in your article. One of the advantages to starting off providing social monitoring and analysis to financial firms was the emphasis on real-time accurate data. This approach/methodology is critical for analyzing unstructured data, like social media conversations.
