re: Windows Phone 8 Hit With Random Reboot Bug
In the businesses where I have seen Linux employed, they as well reboot or restart their application/services due to various causes (primarily memory cache/utilization). In running MS, I have found the majority of the reboots as well caused by the application more often than the OS. Biggest difference for me between the two is still the support where Linux lacks considerably and the overhead where Linux excels. Someone once said, failure is inevitable, it is what you do or don't do with what you learn from it that makes it either worthwhile or debilitating.

Isn't rebooting typical for a Microsoft OS? That is the answer to everything in Windows.

re: Windows Phone 8 Hit With Random Reboot Bug
we still do not know the real issue it could be hardware issue such as faulty components, NFC, bluetooth, etc The reason I say, this is possible because of few people have this issue and not everyone. due to unexpected high demand of WP8, and initial low producton, manufacturer rush to produce more and therfore faulty hardware is more possible due to lack of enough hardware test. it is easy to bash microsoft but it is one of few companies that spend more than anyone on QA

Wow you must be retarded. Windows is based off of NT not dos. Been like 10-12 years since. I have an SSD which needs no defrag and whats nice is there is driver support unlike linux. Linux is never going to take off. It is not for the average user. The openness of linux is nice but that is all. The UI's are crap. Oh and Android always fails no matter what phone. Everyone i know has had an issue with their android phone. The two years i had with WP7 i never had a crash or a problem just rock solid.

TYPICAL MICROKLUNK CRAP TECHNOLOGY!

Why on earth would anyone ever buy anything made by Micro$haft aka Microsoft just escapes me.

I quit using MICROKLUNK WINDOZE 12 years ago and haven't had to reboot my PC since!

Today I use a Samsung phone running Google Android which is a Linux operating system.
I NEVER HAVE TO REBOOT EVER!

On my desktop PC & laptop I use RoboLinux which has a modern file system and has NO defrag ancient 4 bit FAT file system called MS DOS.

NO IT IS NOT. WP8 uses the Windows 8 OS. Windows 7 used an OLD version fo the Windows Compact OS. Almost completely different code bases. Just as different as UNIX is to iOS.

I have the Nokia 822, which is not mentioned in the article, and have had no issues like this at all. I doubt it's an OS issue and is probably HW related. I do run BT all day, navigation and have tons of apps installed. So far, the phone has run without an issue which I'm pleased to report.
