re: FCC Asks FAA To Relax Gadget Restrictions
Thanks @phonescooper for this news. I would support phones and ipads being allowed to be used during take off and landing (as long as they are in "airplane mode").

Maybe the article could have been clearer in the byline, that phone calls are still not going to be allowed.

re: FCC Asks FAA To Relax Gadget Restrictions
@moarsause123 , "Though the FAA is reviewing these policies, it has no plans to allow voice calls on airplanes -- that is not on the table. The FCC hopes the FAA will relax its policies regarding other use of mobile devices." a bit of advice: read the whole thing before you comment. It makes you look like a retard. I don't know about you but i would like to play angry birds while taking off as long as my phone is on airplane mode ("Airplane mode is a setting available on many cell phones, smartphones and other electronic devices that, when engaged, suspends many of the device's signal transmitting functions thereby disabling the device's capacity to place or receive calls or text messages G㢠while still permitting use of other functions that do not require signal transmission (e.g., games, built-in camera, MP3 player).")-Wikipedia. In case you didn't know what airplane mode is.

re: FCC Asks FAA To Relax Gadget Restrictions
So the request is to have people yapping on their phones even more? I am all for the electronics ban even if keeping people to shut up is the only reason.
