re: Health IT Bubble Is No Bubble At All
Two fundamental issues that are yet to be addressed adequately IMHO are the lack of interoperability among proprietary EHRs and the need for a healthy respect for a cybersecurity infrastructure in the health informatics and provider community. These deficiencies will slow the realization of grand visions for the future.

Good points Jay. Not saying there won't be winners and losers -- there absolutely will be some road kill. But Webvan, et al were trying to solve a problem that didn't exist. Health IT is trying to solve a problem that is big, growing and represents a drag on the general economy

re: Health IT Bubble Is No Bubble At All
While the health IT bubble may not be exactly the same as the tech bubble of the late 90s, there are some similarities. Sure the industry is larger and thereG«÷s a real need for solutions, but as with any advancement and competition there will be winners and losers. Depending on how many companies enter the market and what protocols/standardization takes place will determine how big of a bubble it is. Another thing to take into account is the amount of regulation in this industry as opposed to the internet, which may also contribute to a bubble.
