re: Google Nixes Apps For Windows 8, Windows Phone
It's also possible that Google is feeling some pressure. After all, Nokia is licensing its excellent Drive and Maps software (based on their Navteq acquisition) to run on Apple's platform, and I heard they're coming to Android pretty soon.

"U mad, Google?"

re: Google Nixes Apps For Windows 8, Windows Phone
It's not that Google thinks Windows 8 and WP8 will not be successful or that their current market share is too low. On the contrary they fear that they WILL be successful. And likely sooner rather than later. Especially, if companies like Google produce quality native apps for the platform and thereby help enable the platform to succeed.

Google doesn't want the competition. Plain and simple.
