re: Google Nexus 10: My First Month
How can the Play ecosystem be better when it has far fewer quality apps and almost none optimized specifically for tablets?

Other than that, pblanc is spot on, Nexus 10 performance is choppy. What good is a high res display when it lacks the GPU to properly drive it?

re: Google Nexus 10: My First Month
I agree. I have had my nexus 10 for a month now and have used my mom's iPad a lot before purchasing the nexus. Cost wasn't an issue for me, but better performance trumped being able to show off an Apple logo for me. I don't have anything against apple - I have a two year old 27-inch iMac and I love it. I greatly prefer the Mac desktop os to any other, but iOS really lacks features compared to android. Now that an Android tablet has been made that bests the iPad in almost all specifications and is cheaper, you really would have to be unaware, deep into Apple's ecosystem, or retarded to drink the iCool-aid on this one.

It's evidently just you who's had those problems, and some of them are blatant lies - 'the ipads retina display is far superior' 'androids ecosystem is un polished and screams low end'. The Android 'Play' ecosystem is just as good if not better than Apple's iTunes and App Store, for starters it has all the content accessible in one place and then available on all of your devices, as opposed to having to go to different stores for different content types. Not to mention how condescending, pretentious and malicious that last sentence was.

Maybe on your iPad, mine locks up all the time and many apps just give errors and quit

re: Google Nexus 10: My First Month
I have a quite diferent experience. I have tried the Nexus 10 and found it to be typical android- crude, clunky and unstable. The scrolling is jerky and lags, the build quality is really junk. The Nexus froze several times a day and had to be restarted. Androids ecosystem is un polished and screams low end.
I tired to compare it to my ipad 4 as i wanted a less expensive 10" for my kids. The ipad is incredibly stable, it is built like a work of art, and it is so smooth and perfectly responsive. Comparing the screens side by side, the ipads retina display is far superior. I dont know how any intelligent person could pick the google over the ipad 4. Even my 7 year olds quickly lost interest in and become frustrated with the nexus and discarded it running back to the ipad 4. Using the nexus, I couldnt wait to finish what I was doing on it so I could put it away. With the ipad, I could not put it down.
I imagine those who cannot afford the ipad will continue to bash and tout the google products, but any sane person would not pick the Nexus over the ipad if cost was not an issue.

Too bad the tablet didn't get bundled with Google's malware scanner utility. A MUST have for all Android devices!

I wonder how long it will take for the Android apps to really take advantage of that screen size and quality. Once that happens I think it will be a real challenge for the iPad.
