No place will this be as true as in government, where use of data on private citizens seems to be scrutinized to no end.

How would can a company increase it's own ethics? Can regulations ever enforce ethics and morality? The data is not "good" or "bad" it is how we read the data and use the information.

I agree, for years I strongly suggest that Ethics to be a mandatory course in every STEM curriculum.

Glad to see this piece. I've heard a lot of talk about how companies have to be careful in how they use data so they don't anger customers, but rarely does the legal aspect of Big Data come up in conversations I've had. I think it's one of the most interesting parts of the future of Big Data.
