Technology changes like a whirlwind, but people do not change much. Academics get settled into hapits and attitudes about their work experience and its net worth. Entrenched habits and attitudes are difficult to change.

However, academia is making their service unaffordable to more and more people. Eventually, that reality becomes a tipping point that forces change.

Not that there isn't a proliferation of content sources focused upon technology in higher education, any insights that originate outside the 'ivory towers' is welcome. Higher Ed tends to be a bit parochial in it's mimicry of one-another. And yet the application of IT principles and practices is more like herding cats than collaborative due in part to the governance models in play on campuses and the notion that university leaders 'have the answers'.

I look to the larger community of technology leaders for validation, solutions, knowledge and collaboration. I welcome this source of technology news and thought leadership related to education. Keep it fresh and infuse industry wide thinking into the higher ed sector.

As for disruption within education? Just research the amount of human capital being directed toward addressing BYOD through policy.
