For those of us outside the government, this seems both exciting and a no-brainer. I was surprised in watching this video how difficult Tarasiuk thinks it will be to actually just get at some of the data.

The difficulty of integrating many data sources, as well as the cloistered culture of each agency, prevented cross-agency cooperation in the past.The higher level of abstraction enabled by cloud computing -- different agencies integrating to a single shared point -- will bring about the possibility of real sharing.
