One item I spoke to Freerick about, but didn't have room to put into the story, was the notion of how training services like his go about aligning their offerings with the needs of businesses like yours. Agree entirely with the views expressed here. As a small business employer, I really do not care where my my staff get the skills I need them to have. Not do I care how much the training cost them and furthermore, am pleased to know that my staff, new or old, are not slaves to school loan repayments as I know many are today. I have actually used ALISON to train all my new staff BEFORE they join - on basic accounting, project management and IT Skills. As its free, it costs me nothing and it helps staff to contribute from day one. I know a number of other businesses in my neighborhood (Southern Ohio) are using ALISON in the very same way and I have no doubt this is just the beginning of how free online training is going to drive American workplace skills.
