re: 5 Ways Google Should Expand Google+
The "beta" model does seem to be working against Google with this Google+. It's certainly been successful, but you have to wonder how much more effective the platform would be if it had been released in a more traditional manner. It seems the nature of a social networking platform would demand more openness for success.

re: 5 Ways Google Should Expand Google+
Excellent product ideas. But maybe Google should first expand their IT infrastructure so everyone who wants a Google+ account can get one. Google+ is heavily dependent on network externalties. By limiting the number of users, Google is reducing the value of its product.

It also needs to reexamine its name policy.

re: 5 Ways Google Should Expand Google+
On the Google Apps side, I can't vouch for other people but personally would like separate work and personal streams to some extent. It's already so hard to disconnect from work, the last thing I want is a notification from my boss when I'm on a social network for personal reasons.

On gmail integration, I guess it wouldn't harm me if it was there as a view in my mail interface, but I doubt I'd use it that much. I'm trying to stay away from email in general.

I'm with you 110% on the Sites integration.

Overall good article.

re: 5 Ways Google Should Expand Google+
Why should they expand when the talk around Google's campus is already whether or not Google+ is worth saving, or if they should let it go the way of Wave before it gets any more embarrassing?

When it comes to managing data, donít look at backup and archiving systems as burdens and cost centers. A well-designed archive can enhance data protection and restores, ease search and e-discovery efforts, and save money by intelligently moving data from expensive primary storage systems.
