Since IPv6 is required by federal law in Japan, one would think that it would be among the first testing/proving grounds for this technology.

While the RFC describing IPv6 has been around since the late 90s, it was only last year (6/6/12) that there was a major push for deployment in the US. The biggest hurdle with IPv6 adoption has to do with the lack of native interoperability between v4 and v6 - networks will have to run in parallel with both addressing schemes until the conversion is completed.

Gary, What does Hobsbawm say about IPv6, which is required plumbing for this vision to succeed? Maybe uptake is better in England, but in the US there is a distinct lack of enthusiasm. Recently read that even new WLANs have iffy support for v6 devices. Lorna Garey, IW Reports
