re: New Query Tool Searches EHR Unstructured Data
The issue of free text in EHR systems and the appearance on documents has always been big with physicians. I have found that most systems though, are customizable to include free text fields with most templates and have that text appear in the resulting documents, hereby allowing physicians this functionality that they have grown accustomed to. QPID seems like a great tool in retrieving all the data available in these free text tools and categorizing them so they make sense to physicians. Together with the other functionalities available with the tool, I can see this becoming widely used.
