re: NASA Rover Spinoff Roams Hospitals Delivering Meals, Laundry
This is a great example of using readily available technology for improvements to multiple fields. By having the rover perform these necessary uncomplicated tasks, nurses can devote more time to the patients. The more time the nurse can devote to more healthcare related tasks, the better the quality of care the patients will receive. Using technology to improve patient care and efficiency is crucial for the healthcare industry.

This is great! People will have more leisure time when robots start doing our work! -)
And all that leisure time will be spent in the unemployment line...

re: NASA Rover Spinoff Roams Hospitals Delivering Meals, Laundry
The first time I dodged one of these hospital bots roaming around the hallway of a major medical center here in the San Francisco Bay Area, I thought I'd stepped into a Star Wars set -- but they are ingenious! They bring the medication to the already-overworked nurse instead of the nurse having to schlep to a dispensary (which can be a quarter-mile away from a patient area in some of our larger hospitals). Go NASA!

IT's Reputation: What the Data Says
InformationWeek's IT Perception Survey seeks to quantify how IT thinks it's doing versus how the business really views IT's performance in delivering services - and, more important, powering innovation. Our results suggest IT leaders should worry less about whether they're getting enough resources and more about the relationships they have with business unit peers.
