re: Health IT Talent Shortage Worsens, PWC Says
This is another worrying trend in the healthcare industry. With the demand for more complex and powerful EHR systems and better technology there is a shortage of qualified professionals to implement and maintain them. A lot of companies, however, have been able to fulfill their needs for qualified professionals at least temporarily by hiring private consulting companies that specialize in the implementation, training, and maintenance of health IT systems. Usually these consulting companies are more knowledgeable and have vast experience with the particular systems they work for and are able to train employees so that practices will eventually become self-sufficient.
