I use feedly too but I don't really like their table format very much. I just want a list of stories

First IG now Reader, my two most used Google products are going away. I have well over a thousand feeds added to Google Reader. There are other readers I can import to, and do, but I am really going to miss this product. I will switch out the G icon in my toolbar to Feedly the minute they shut down Reader.

As a big ol 'nerdboy' I use Google Reader to track the latest movie, TV, comic-book and other geeky news. I'm really disappointed in Google's decision.

I just looked at the petition link you included Tom, and it looks like it's inching very close to the 100k mark. Do you think that enough public outcry would cause Google to reconsider?

If Google wants to drop Google Reader then there are other alternatives with all the Google Reader functionality and more. I would suggest checking out NewzSocial (http://www.newzsocial.com) which has better functionality than Google Reader and cool social news sharing features built in. NewzSocial also has a channel about the end of Google Reader: http://www.newzsocial.com/goog...
