App developers are up against big companies with big marketing money. Thank you PreApps for creating a way for us app developers to compete with the big companies. I am going to post my app today!

re: Microsoft Windows 8 Apps Get Preview Site
After checking out the site I am intrigued, yes there aren't as many windows apps as one would hope. However, they launched the end of january, and this partnership was only announced last week. To me, the numbers/stats are reasonable, especially for such a young website. If they don't improve within the next 2-3 months then I would agree with you jim but for now, hold your tongue.

This is a great idea. I can never find new apps out for my phone so knowing ahead of time is quite helpful. This will definitely benefit Windows or any other app developers.

re: Microsoft Windows 8 Apps Get Preview Site
The PreApps Windows support just started last week, and it's hard to tell (judging by the dearth of comments) how much attention Microsoft's announcement post has received. As far as I know, Microsoft hasn't made any other big proclamations about the partnership, and the next few steps will involve cultivating interest through local developer events.

I'm sure they'd hoped there'd be more than three apps by now, but given the marketing approach, it could take a little time to build buzz. Still, you bring up the big challenge the site will face; with thousands of apps submitted monthly, PreApps, having accrued only a few hundred submissions, has a long way to go. They're not making bad progress for a two-month old company, though, so we'll see. On the flip side, what will the site do if it explodes of all sudden? The pretense of giving indie developers exposure will become harder to manage if there are thousands of new entries each month.

Wow. Did anyone even bother to look at this? I actually did, and PreApps shows all of three Windows 8 apps. I think somebody's being taken for a ride, PR-wise.

IT's Reputation: What the Data Says
InformationWeek's IT Perception Survey seeks to quantify how IT thinks it's doing versus how the business really views IT's performance in delivering services - and, more important, powering innovation. Our results suggest IT leaders should worry less about whether they're getting enough resources and more about the relationships they have with business unit peers.
