I view this as a good example of healthcare IT helping out patients by allowing providers to see the formularies before ordering the drugs and therefore prescribing lower cost drugs with lower co-pay amounts. While the patients are benefiting, the physicians can also benefit from the incentives offered making this a win-win situation.
