re: Medical Device, EHR Integration Could Save $30B: Study
The interoperability between devices and EHR systems is a great concept that has huge potential but first we must overcome the obstacle in actually having the device vendors agree to this functionality. When we take the power away from them, possibly by having institutions demand interoperable devices, then we can start seeing them integrated. There will be a lot of testing and errors to begin with, but once the bugs and kinks are worked out this could be a potentially huge win for healthcare IT.
