re: Veterans Affairs BYOD Plans On Hold
Great observations on device sprawl, Nick. Software licensing and compliance in these situations should be a priority for government organizations, especially since the BYOD trend is not going away anytime soon. Additionally, with the sequester cuts a reality, many government organizations are scrambling for ways to become more efficient without hindering operations. Software is one line item where bipartisan support actually exists. Eliminating software waste can save our government (and taxpayers) millions - roughly $580.6 million in the first year alone according to watchdog group Citizens Against Government Waste, if the government optimized government software license spending. More on the sequester and software licensing compliance as it relates to the federal government can be found here: http://bit.ly/16xEx4Q. -- Steve Schmidt, VP Corporate Development, Flexera Software.
