So instead of a phenomenon that is happening right now but arguably may not last long, focus on a phenomenon that's ridiculous and may not even happen let alone last long? That's a winning strategy!

I think Tim Cook is right to avoid delving into Phablets, as I think it will be a distraction from focusing on other product lines that are already established. Far too often, companies spread themselves too thin, trying to keep up with all of the latest trends at the expense of innovation and quality. Apple should continue to focus on improving the product lines that have already been successful while also working on future products. While I personally think the idea of a smartwatch is ridiculous, if this is really going to be a trend, Apple would be wise to focus its innovation there, instead of being sidetracked by a phablet phenomenon that may not last.
