I fall into that demographic, and I have both a facebook and Google+ profile. But in truth, I don't use them very much. They seem useful as a global login mechanism, but I don't have much interest in being friended or in making 'friends' I'll never meet.

It would be misleading to assume people my age are fully invested in this sort of technology just because we have explored it a bit. If Facebook and Twitter and other such sites want our business, they need to do a better outreach to us not only in how we can use it, but in explaining the technology to us without the assumption of knowledge inherent in 15 year olds. (I mean hashtags? really? Why is a hashtag superior to a keyword? ARE they the same thing or are they just similar?)
