re: Microsoft Says Goodbye Hotmail
I will say that I am
an active Hotmail user and was completely unaware of the changes, until I
checked my email and it was Outlook. It was quite a task that they achieved in
a reasonable amount of time. I am surprised that they have not been promoting
and tooting their own horns on this one.
I believe they went through this transition to be just that; one of the big
2 email providers.

re: Microsoft Says Goodbye Hotmail
Good to know that a lowly and free UC Berkeley UNIX application called Hotmail and another one called Skype - has gotten Microsoft this far into world of telecommunications, and messaging - no body ever seems to acknowledge or give credit to early pioneers of social networking (early on) - and the societal impact that University of California has had on contributing freely - cheers to a petabyte of Free BSD email content on a Free Unix box!!.

re: Microsoft Says Goodbye Hotmail
Why were people with Hotmail accounts told of this. I still have a Hotmail email address - so what happens noW. Not too pleased about this as my outlook was used for talktalk emails then Sky email. Is this why my outlook is not working as the Hotmail has been migrated over???????

When it comes to managing data, donít look at backup and archiving systems as burdens and cost centers. A well-designed archive can enhance data protection and restores, ease search and e-discovery efforts, and save money by intelligently moving data from expensive primary storage systems.
