re: Windows Blue: Will Microsoft Give Free Upgrade?
personally, i have just ripped W8 off my laptop and gone back to W7 as it is just problematic to say the least. I am a linux desktop user for nigh on a decade but keep a windows install on a laptop for certain projects and applications. The idea was a good one, the delivery was just not up to par though IMO

Of course it will be for free. Microsoft is fixing a craptastic product, no way they could charge for that....although, Microsoft tends to charge for everything.

re: Windows Blue: Will Microsoft Give Free Upgrade?
Saying Blue will be a superior product to Windows 8 is speculation. Windows 8 was a major change to the interface which rarely is met with high fives and celebration (like a pair a shoes, it needs a little breaking in). Anyone, regardless of name and history, that produces a new OS every 12-15 months expecting their clients to foot the bill is asking for their client base to leave, their application developers to focus on other platforms and deserving of failure and criticism.

re: Windows Blue: Will Microsoft Give Free Upgrade?
Certainly a free upgrade to existing Win 8 users would go a LONG way to improving relations with the customers / improving their image. Will they be willing to take the financial hit? I think if they want future users, the answer is obvious. But I've also learned never to assume because it makes an ...well you know the rest.
