re: Google Cuts Prices On New Datastore Service
Why are you comparing Google Cloud Datastore to Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3)? Google Cloud Datastore is a competitor to Amazon's SimpleDB.

The Google equivalent of Amazon S3 is Google Cloud Storage, NOT Google Cloud Datastore. Although, that's a bit of a misnomer... because Google Cloud Storage also has some functionality of Amazon CloudFront built-in, so Google Cloud Storage is a bit of a combination of Amazon S3 and Amazon CloudFront.

However, when specifically referencing Google Cloud Datastore (which is what dropped in price), this should only be compared to Amazon Simple DB.
