re: Google Adds Stock-Android Smartphones
I like that Google is offering options for consumers as to what OS they receive when purchasing smartphones. Manufacturer and carried bloatware can be extremely annoying and can diminish from the experience of owning such advanced pieces of technology. In my opinion the trade-off from losing some of the manufacturer perks associated with the phone is worth it. I would much rather have a faster, more responsive phone without all the bloatware than one with advanced picture taking capabilities. I'm sure that if you want those manufacturer perks, you can always find some sort of open source application that can do what you need.

IT's Reputation: What the Data Says
InformationWeek's IT Perception Survey seeks to quantify how IT thinks it's doing versus how the business really views IT's performance in delivering services - and, more important, powering innovation. Our results suggest IT leaders should worry less about whether they're getting enough resources and more about the relationships they have with business unit peers.
