Windows 8 won't run most enterprise apps. If you've got apps particularly designed for a given version of windows, why would you upgrade all of your machines to Windows 8?

Just a quick thought, Michael...

As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, but that doesn't justify converting a couple of graphs into a thousand-word article! After reading this article, I'm still not sure I have a clear picture of the state of the PC market. While you've demonstrated that you know how to interpret graphs, it's really hard to grasp your interpretation by reading it in text form. Simply showing us the graphs would have been far more effective, but I guess that would defeat the purpose of writing an article.
