Story in The Register identifies this company as a "fork seller" because part of its story is forking the open source Android code http://www.theregister.co.uk/2...

That would explain why they need Barra to keep taking the mobile OS in their own direction (whatever that is)

What do you suppose Xiaomi will put him to work on? Extensions to or hacks on the Android code for their phones?
