re: Salesforce.com Shakes Up File Sharing
While shared storage and sharing will be supported (the original Chatterbox mission), the higher goal here is providing a single point of access that doesn't aim to replace existing systems in use such as Documentum, FileNet and SharePoint or services such as Box, DropBox or Google Drive. Salesforce execs where inconsistent and vague about exactly what systems would be integrated out of the box, but then, this is still in private beta. They can say a lot of things about what it will or won't do at this point. They're "working on" single-point read-write access just like the entire content management industry has been working on it for years.

re: Salesforce.com Shakes Up File Sharing
I think it's smart to not try to replace Documentum, SharePoint, etc. Better to serve as an access point. There are so many file sync and sharing services out there that this could easily be an also-ran, but I think Salesforce has a dedicated user base, and if Salesforce can make this work easily with DropBox and others, it may have a winner.

IT's Reputation: What the Data Says
InformationWeek's IT Perception Survey seeks to quantify how IT thinks it's doing versus how the business really views IT's performance in delivering services - and, more important, powering innovation. Our results suggest IT leaders should worry less about whether they're getting enough resources and more about the relationships they have with business unit peers.
