ConnocoPhillips shows that you can make the most of old wells before resorting to fracking and horizontal drilling -- not that they're not using those techniques, too. The point is that adding a sensors and network connections bough old-tech wells online, creating an Internet of energy production. The profusion of natural gas being found in the U.S. is driving us toward energy independence and is 'fueling' a manufacturing resurgence.
