re: The Truth About Oracle's Virtualized 12c Database
Oracle 12c opens a new chapter in database operations. Internal DB function is the same but the way DBAs administer the DB will change. The idea is similar to Containers under Sun Solaris. Solaris could run many guests under one version of the operating system, while VMware, Microsoft, Red Hat KVM package a copy of the operating system in each virtual machine. Likewise, Oracle puts pluggable databases in a container, one 12c instance serves them all.
