re: What's Holding Back The Mobile Health Revolution?
Big overlap here with the concerns about information communicated on the web and through social media. The best way to counter misinformation is with the medical community actively promoting better information -- although it's admittedly hard to compete with the volume of social spam.

re: What's Holding Back The Mobile Health Revolution?
Mobile health, patient education and patient engagement go hand in hand. The worry that mHealth will make patients "too independent" is the wrong approach. Instead, physicians should be working to develop mobile solutions with accurate information, ensuring their "control" over the doctor/patient relationship. Mobile is how most people access information in their day-to-day lives. Improving mHealth can only lead to better patient education and engagement, and ultimately better outcomes. If patients have mobile access to their discharge plans, for example, this could lead to increased compliance with post-hospital care and potentially fewer re-admissions. The demand for mobile health will only increase in the coming years. It's time for the healthcare industry to catch up.
