Yes, Verizon inherited a set of marketplace strengths in its Terremark acquisition. Terremark's security consciousness and secure physical facilities made it hard to displace when Harris Corp. cam along with a highly secure cloud sevice aimed at the government. It contained innovative security concepts but eventually closed.

Terremark's Culpepper facility is strategically located to serve the federal market. In light of Amazon Web Services' recent move to hire 500 people in Herndon,VA, Microsoft's receiving an important federal security authorization to operate (FedRAMP), and now Verizon betting big, the competitive heat for government cloud services is really heating up.
