Federal contractors no doubt are relieved federal workers are heading back to work. But most of the contractors I speak with say the disruption of the past 16 days will continue to impact projects, schedules and contract releases for weeks. And sadly, there's not much confidence that we won't be going through this same drill come Jan. 15, when the funding is due to run out again.

What strikes me is that federal agency IT organizations have been held to a level of fiscal discipline that the government at large hasn't been held to.
