ITIL was a highly systematic approach to implementing sound, best practices in the data center. To some extent, critics have dismissed it as no longer relevant as IT staffs struggle with continuous integration and DevOps. ITIL doesn't fit cloud computing patterns, they say. I wouldn't throw out the baby with the bath water quite so quickly. ITIL, or something that looks a lot like it, will be needed in the new environments.

The phrase: "next year, we're looking for fair value for our products and investments." Sounds like "yes, we're raising prices" -- but isn't getting companies to use ITIL like pulling teeth already?
