Agreed. But I'm sure it won't take long before the airlines see there's an addition fee that can be levied here, which should deter usage.

I can't see many people jumping to pay extra for the call/text service. If I really had to keep in touch with someone over a long flight, I'd much rather use the Wi-Fi to email or Facebook message them.
And, as someone who usually naps during flights, I hate the thought of people holding phone conversations on a tiny plane - that would definitely get annoying!

Just what I was thinking, one of the nice things about flying is it's one of the few places people can't jabber away on the phone incessantly. This is not a good idea.

Using this service for voice calls is a very bad idea. All I is some numbnuts sitting next to me yelling into his phone for hours! :(
