Wow, I hope not... If Dell takes over x86, that would be the end of innovation on the server side. They know how to do one thing and one thing only, copy. If they own the market, who are they going to copy? The company was founded as a generic manufacturer of IBM PCs. Nothing has changed.... It is more likely these huge x86 purchasers, like facebook and Google, will just white-box servers.
