Holy Asteroids
NASA's asteroid tracker appears to have posted some very impressive scientific gains.  Say what you will about wasted taxpayer dollars, but I still believe NASA delivers when it comes to understanding our humble place in the universe.

Tracking asteroids
In a related development, on Jan. 1, the first discovered asteroid in 2014, designated 2014 AA, entered Earth's atmosphere and broke up over the mid-Atlantic Ocean. High-precision astrometry data provided by the Catalina Sky Survey team helped orbit analysts from NASA's Near-Earth Object Program Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory determine possible Earth impact locations.
