Hopefully just the beginning...
This is probably the reason why I will buy an iphone... I don't intend to make money with it, which puts me on the "consumer" market, but I have been interested in infrared imaging, photography and videography for some time, and Flir's other devices where actually the more affordable ones around. It's good to see that there is a "consumer-priced" option for this at last, and I hope that there will be enough demand to justify creating more advanced models with more possibilities and higher resolutions, at affordable prices.

Your likely correct in that.   I don't see much use in the consumer markets for this device.

However, you have to admit, it is great that FLIR found a way to bring the overall cost down...

Why don't we give this FLIR One to the military, the police and those three letters agencies, along with the iPhone 5, instead of spending thousand of dollars in similar gadgets?

I think we'll see a lot more unusual sensors that can be connected to mobile phones appear this year.
