We do not know that even Facebook come up with even more lengthy setup for privacy settings. Still users have to go through to the lengthy process to reach out to their privacy settings. once in three months I check my profile settings. But from your post only I got an understanding about apps and ads. thanks for your post.

I use MyPermissions on my Android. It goes farther than your 3 steps there by not only letting you block friends apps from my info but also partner sites AND most importantly all the apps I use. It also let's me manage Twitter and Google :-)

That's a good point, too. I don't disclose my birthday, hometown and phone number, for example.

It may also be worthwhile to not provide certain information to Facebook, even though it asks.
